Kamden Ecker

Primary Discipline -

Painting

Kamden Ecker is a contemporary realist and floral oil painter based in Georgia. Classically trained in drawing and painting, she creates hyperrealistic works inspired by her own photography and guided by a fascination with light, nature, history, and technical process. Beyond the studio, Kamden serves as Visual Arts Director for the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center and is an active advocate for arts education and community outreach.

As a contemporary realist, I use my own photography as a foundation for oil paintings that explore the subtle beauty often overlooked in nature. I am drawn to the way light shapes form, atmosphere, and emotion, allowing simple subjects like wild roses and magnolia blooms to become studies in depth and quiet wonder. Through layered techniques and carefully limited palettes, I seek not merely to replicate what is seen, but to reveal the delicate nuances that invite closer observation.

Kamden Ecker is a Georgia-based contemporary realist and floral oil painter whose work reflects a deep appreciation for nature, history, and technical craftsmanship. Growing up in Oxford, Georgia, she has been involved with Southern Heartland Art Gallery for much of her life.

Classically trained in drawing and painting through a local atelier, Kamden developed a strong foundation in technical art practices and instruction. She has taught drawing and painting with an emphasis on artistic technique and process, while also cultivating a passion for pottery, glaze chemistry, and alternative firing methods.

Kamden’s floral oil paintings are rooted in her own photography and focus on hyperrealism, carefully observing the interaction of light, atmosphere, and form. Her work seeks to reveal subtle nuances in nature that often go unnoticed.

Professionally, Kamden serves as Visual Arts Director for the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center, where she has had opportunities to work alongside respected artists including John Cleaveland and Phillip and Matt Moulthrop.

Beyond her artistic practice, Kamden is deeply committed to nonprofit service and arts advocacy. She is a former board member of the Monroe-Walton Center for the Arts, chaired its gala fundraiser, and helped oversee Art MD healing art kits serving children and adults experiencing trauma. She is also a former member of the Lake Oconee Associated Photography Group.

Kamden actively volunteers throughout Georgia communities and serves as a tourism ambassador for Morgan County, participating in arts and tourism collaborative initiatives. She is also an executive officer with the Daughters of the American Revolution and is passionate about supporting veterans, the elderly, and memory care patients through art therapy.

Outside of art, Kamden enjoys classical piano and harp, collecting antiques and nineteenth-century glass ornaments, and growing an ever-expanding personal library.
