This photo was found in the attic of an antebellum home in Covington Georgia, believed to be taken in the early 1940's. Nothing was known of her, not her name or where she was from; we did discover that she taught French at the local high school and may have rented rooms in the large home where her photo was found. The artist wondered if she might be the lonely spouse of a soldier serving in WWII, caught in a moment of solitude near the banks of the Alcovy River. Psalm 23 came to the artist's mind, hence the title of the piece.
